Sales and Project Development
Mark joined AKT3 in January of 2026 after 24 years with Barbizon Capitol where he worked in almost every position in their systems division, helping customers and design industry partners with developing and executing their projects. His work has included performing arts centers, venues at colleges and universities, major museums, iconic buildings, renovations of historic spaces, public art projects, and houses of worship. Before joining Barbizon he worked in local, professional theatre and event production as a Technical Director, Production Manager, Lighting Designer/ Director, and Sound Designer.
Mark brings a deep technical background in both lighting and rigging systems along with a solution focused approach to project development. He is a member of the Museum and Art Gallery Lighting Committee of IESNA where he has assisted with writing the controls sections of the recently published update to RP-30, "Museum and Art Gallery Lighting: A Recommended Practice." Mark holds a BA in Theatre from the University of Maryland College Park.
